[REVIEW] Etude House Styling Eye Liner

I’ve hopped on the bandwagon of underlining eyes with white eyeliner to make my eyes look bigger and brighter, but my choices of white eyeliner are actually rather limited (Play 101 pencil from Etude House and Urban Decay Naked 24/7 Glide-On Double-Ended Eye Pencil), so I wanted to try something new.

The pencil also comes in two other colours, black and brown.IMG_8080

(The brown mark on my hand is actually from the Innisfree Always New Auto Liner – I rubbed it off with tissue but it doesn’t totally budge!)

You might be able to tell from the photo that the pencil looks easily breakable – and it sure is. I don’t know if it’s just me, or just the one pencil that I bought, but somehow the lead either keeps breaking or flaking off. It’s rather disappointing because I really like the colour and the shimmer that the pencil is capable of drawing.

When I apply the pencil on my tear line, it doesn’t always apply very evenly either, and often leaves small flakes of white lead on my lower eyelashes.

I do like its staying power – it keeps up really well after a long and sweaty day, even after my BB cream is almost fully oxidized.

Final Verdict

I wish I could say I love this product but it hasn’t been a breeze using it. The application is not smooth, and the lead is too fragile (in my opinion). I’m honestly hoping it’s just the one that I bought that has such issues, because I did test this out in the store and it was fine at that time.

If you’re considering this product, do test this out at the store before you buy!
