[REVIEW] moonshot – Cream Paint Lightfit

After my pleasant experience with Moonshot’s lipfeat, I couldn’t help but go into the official store in Myeongdong and get another shade, and in the process, I ended up buying their latest Cream Paint Lightfit as well.

Product description

A perfect MLBB, half level light tome chroma suitable for all skin tone

Official Retail Price in Singapore: USD 27.27 (Moonshot’s KR webpage)

This product line offers fewer shades than lipfeat, but the colours are so flattering on all skin types, just as advertised.

I got the shade M117 Hey Rosa – a dried rose pink that anyone can pull off. The colour vaguely reminds me of my Peripera Airy Velvet 10 – Dry Rose Brown.

In addition, I love the product packaging, as it looks and feels really luxurious.

Sorry for the bad swatch – this shade doesn’t actually look quite as dark in real life.

On application, it also feels exactly like Peripera Airy Ink Velvet! I don’t know what sorcery this is, but I highly suspect they use similar formulas. It applies smoothly and dries matte, giving it a much better lasting power than the cream lipsticks of lipfeat. It’s not super long-lasting (no such promise in the product description either), so no expectations of it lasting fully through a meal. I like how light the product feels on the lips – absolutely befitting of the name ‘Lightfit’.

You can also use this product as a blush because of how easily it can be blended into the skin. I haven’t tried this yet because I think Hey Rosa is a little too dark for me to use as a blush, but I think lighter shades like Love Drunk will look really lovely on the cheeks.

Final Verdict

I’m in love with all the shades that this product range can offer, but after trying Peripera’s Airy Ink Velvet, I honestly feel that moonshot’s Cream Paint Lightfit is not worth the price tag when Peripera can do the same (or even better, I’m impressed by its staying power) for much less.

Of course, moonshot might be charging more for its star power. Peripera also doesn’t offer as many MLBB shades, with a stronger focus on bright red and pink lip colours.

Would I consider repurchasing this? Mmm, for the lovely shades, maybe – but it’s definitely not at the top of my to-buy list anytime soon.
