I didn’t have too great an experience with Etude House’s Dear My Blooming Talk lipsticks the last time I bought one, so I honestly bought this just for the cute dog packaging, which is part of their Chinese New Year launch.
The matte tinting lips-talk expresses defining rich color as it softly and smoothly adheres to the lips while providing a moisturized finish.

When I first started out playing with makeup, my first choice for a lip colour would have been either pink or red. These days, I’ve been veering towards more beige and nude shades for a daily look, so I naturally picked BE101 Skinny Beige. I’ve never been able to get myself to try a purple hue because… well, because i just think that it wouldn’t look great with my complexion.
Packaging: It comes originally as just a bullet, and you get to choose a lipstick case to put the bullet in. I love the lipstick cases – so many to choose from! The one I have is from their CNY collection, but you can also choose from their usual collection if you’re not keen on doggies:
Texture: Don’t be fooled by the appearance of the lipstick bullet – it may look (and even smell) like the glass tinting lipstick, but definitely applies matte. It also feels comfortable on the lips because it doesn’t dry them out excessively.
Colour payoff & intensity: I’m actually really impressed by the colour payoff of this lipstick, because the Blooming Lips one I tried last time was the hardest, toughest lip product I had ever used. I could keep tugging and the colour wouldn’t come off evenly, which ended up leaving tiny coloured residues on the lips, and it looked really bad. This, however, applies smoothly so that you don’t have to keep struggling to get a good colour.
Colour: The colour may look red in the swatch, but rest assured that it’s definitely more beige in real life. This is easily one of my favourite nude lip colours, and is actually quite similar to TFS’ Moisture Touch BE03. I think it’s one of the most wearable colours in the launch as well, especially if you’re not too keen on reds and purples.
Staying power: The staying power of this lipstick is rather good – I’ve had it last at least one meal and survive multiple rounds of drinking water. I wouldn’t really expect this to last for one whole day in the office without any touching up though.
This product has rekindled some faith in Etude House’s lip products for me. I think that overall it’s a pretty good product. It’s simple, straightforward, and does the job. It also helps that the price point is lower than that of a lot of other lip products.
If you are a beginner to makeup with no experience in liquid lipsticks, or just want to find something fuss-free that you can easily incorporate into a basic makeup look, this is definitely the product for you.
