[REVIEW] TONYMOLY Panda’s Dream So Cool Eye Stick

This came free in the Samyang x Tony Moly collection gift set, so I thought it would be great to try this out. I’ve heard about it before, partly for the cute packaging, and partly because it is said to be a good & affordable product.

Product description

This Tony Moly Panda’s Dream So Cool Eye Stick is a portable eye serum in a stick that moisturizes and cools the delicate skin around the eyes as it smoothes the appearance of fine lines. Instantly cool and de-puff tired eyes while minimizing the appearance of fine lines with this multitasking eye stick.

Infused with nourishing and hydrating bamboo extracts, this serum cools and soothes skin around the delicate eye area while it hydrates.

At first glance, a few ingredients are already ringing alarm bells: butylene glycol and alcohol. These 2 are infamous potential irritants that I talk extensively about in other product reviews, and I really try as much as I can to avoid using products containing these. However, it also appears that other ingredients may pose other forms of health risks: Chlorhexidine Digluconate, for example, is a potentially harmful disinfectant – now what’s it doing in an EYE stick??

Packaging: I recently developed this love for pandas, and so I obviously find this packaging super cute! It’s quite small – easy to carry around for sure, but another potential concern is that it will run out pretty fast if, say, you use this everyday.

Texture: This strongly reminded me of RiRe’s All Kill Blackhead Remover Stick because of the gluestick-like texture. Both of them even smell similar (like glue!), and yet they don’t serve the same skincare purposes 😂 Thankfully, the texture is not very thick, so it gets absorbed by the thin skin around your eyes quickly.

Effectiveness: To be frank, I can’t really tell if this is doing its job. In fact, I think it’s probably not working as it should.

While the eye stick does give a slightly cooling feeling upon application, it doesn’t really feel all that hydrating. I don’t have much fine lines to begin with, and my eyes just look the same as before. Eye bags are definitely not reduced, dark eye circles still as bad as ever, and my eyes still look puffy sometimes.

Final Verdict

You know those products that look super cute but serve no other purpose than looking cute? Yeah, this would probably fall under that category.

I’m quite disappointed because I’ve read about how this product contains ingredients such as glacier water, bamboo extract etc. and hence an affordable way to take care of the delicate skin around your eyes. However, this product has really not done much for me.

Perhaps it is because I can’t test for its effectiveness on aspects such as wrinkles and fine lines. Or perhaps it just doesn’t work.
