Packaging: I’m a big fan of the shiny lid and transparent case for you to see the sparkly, rose gold product – so beautiful! It also closes tightly so that no product leaks out, making this a very clean and neat lippie that you can bring along on your travels.
Colour: I don’t have anything like this in my lip collection, so I’m really impressed. Not quite nude, more like an apricot-rose gold colour that makes your lips look plump, hydrated, and absolutely glowing. Just look at all that glitter in the last photo! In fact, I think you can even use it as liquid eyeshadow, and your lids will look like they’re popping.
The colour payoff is not very strong, slightly thin (?) in my opinion, so it brings out the peach colour of your lips, rather than cover it. I do highly recommend this shade for people with warm undertones because it definitely complements, although it is quite a universal colour that should work well with most tones.
Staying power: I find that because of all the wax and oils in the formula, Gloss Bomb tends to be a little sticky on the lips. It’s not like a honey/glue kind of sticky that grosses you out – in fact, it feels like you applied sleeping balm on your lips.
Sadly, that being said, it didn’t necessarily equate to longevity on the lips. Sipping of water can take away quite a fair bit of product, and don’t bother expecting it to continue staining or tinting your lips throughout a meal.
I feel that as with most other lippies (other than matte), the colour isn’t too much of a problem, just that you have to lower expectations regarding staying power.
I’ve seen some bloggers layer lipstick under the Gloss Bomb, so that you get a very striking (and lasting) colour, together with a glossy shimmer to give you kissable lips. It’s a very pretty idea that I want to try out as well!
